The Simpsonville City Commission just completed phase 3 of a 4-phase playground build which focused more on being good stewards of our environment, accessibility and inclusive play.  Phase 3, named “Simpsonville Commons”, is a public facility that merges recycled tire-derived products with walkable paths, gathering spaces, native plantings, recreational amenities, floral and décor.  All of the tables, benches, and chairs as well as the rubber surfacing in phase 3 are made with Kentucky-sourced recycled tires consisting of a total of 3 tons of recycled tire-derived product within this project.

The City's Parks department was fortunate enough to be a recipient of the 2023 state crumb rubber / tire-derived products grant and is grateful to State Representative Jennifer Decker for her support for the funding of this project.

Thank-you to our City Commission, State Representative Decker and brick donors who helped make this community asset possible.
