Honorable Commissioner Vicky Wise

Mrs. Wise has been a resident of Simpsonville for 26 years. She was first elected to office in 1996 and was currently serving her eighth term on the Commission. Mrs. Wise and husband Tommy, have been married for 36 years. They have two sons, and seven grandchildren.
While serving on the Commission, Commissioner Wise has served as the Finance Commissioner, Sewer Commissioner, and the Police Commissioner.
Commissioner Wise also had a very successful personal career in the banking industry as well. She began her career as a bank teller at Shelby County Bank & Trust (now Commonwealth Bank and Trust) in 1992 and ultimately, before leaving in 2006 to join a former colleague at American Founders Bank, was the Vice President for the Simpsonville Branch. She remained at American Founders until being diagnosed with cancer in 2008.
Commissioner Wise was a community visionary and pursed the development of the sidewalk project along side her fellow commissioners. Commissioner Wise also believed in providing unlimited education for staff, encouraging them to be the best they could be. Commissioner Wise treated everyone the same no matter what were or their background. She was also an advocate for kids programs, and the handicapped were very close to her heart.
